MrcemUltra — Terms & Conditions

Effective date: 13 July 2026

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

MrcemUltra (mrcemultra.com) is an online revision platform for doctors preparing for the MRCEM Primary examination. It is owned and operated by CogniLoop Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17237168, with its registered office at 23 Edmond Road, Mitcham, London CR4 3AR United Kingdom ("CogniLoop", "we", "us"). MrcemUltra is a trading name of CogniLoop Ltd.

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and CogniLoop Ltd covering your use of the MrcemUltra website and platform (the "Service"), whether you use free or paid features. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data and forms part of your agreement with us.

If you have any questions about these Terms, contact us at info@mrcemultra.com.

2. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. When you purchase an Access Pass, you additionally confirm your agreement at checkout, including the express consent described in Section 8.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not create an account or use the Service.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By registering, you confirm that you are 18 or over. The Service is designed for medical professionals and medical graduates preparing for the MRCEM Primary examination, but we do not verify professional status and do not restrict registration to any professional group.

4. Your account

Registration. You must provide accurate and complete information when registering and keep it up to date so that we can communicate with you effectively.

One account, one user. Your account is personal to you. You must not share your login credentials with, or transfer your account to, any other person, and you must not allow anyone else to access the Service through your account. Keep your password confidential. If we have reason to believe your account is being shared or misused, we may require a password change, suspend the account, or terminate it in accordance with Section 12 — without refund where the breach is deliberate.

Security. Tell us promptly at info@mrcemultra.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorisation.

5. Free access

We may make selected content — such as sample questions, selected theory topics, and a sample mock examination — available free of charge to registered users.

Free access is provided at our discretion. We may change, limit, or withdraw free content or free-tier features at any time without notice. Free access carries no entitlement to any particular content, feature, or period of availability. All other provisions of these Terms, including acceptable use and intellectual property, apply fully to free accounts.

6. Paid access ("Access Passes")

What you buy. An Access Pass gives you personal, non-transferable access to the paid content and features of the Service for a fixed duration, as described at the point of purchase.

When it starts and ends. Your Access Pass begins immediately at the moment of purchase and expires automatically at the end of the purchased duration. Access Passes do not renew automatically, and we will not charge you again unless you make a further purchase. When your Access Pass expires, your access to paid content ends; your account and your study history remain available to you under our Privacy Policy's retention terms, and will be restored to any future Access Pass you purchase.

No pausing or transfer. The duration of an Access Pass runs continuously from purchase and cannot be paused, extended, or transferred to another person, except where we agree otherwise at our discretion in exceptional circumstances.

Content changes. We regularly update, add to, correct, and reorganise the content on the platform. An Access Pass entitles you to the paid content as it exists during your access period, not to any specific item of content remaining unchanged.

7. Prices and payment

All prices are in pounds sterling (£, GBP) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise at the point of purchase. Payment is taken at the time of purchase and is processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your full card details. If your payment card is issued outside the United Kingdom, your card issuer sets any currency conversion rate and may apply charges — these are outside our control.

We may change our prices, and introduce, amend, or withdraw discounts and promotional offers, at any time. Price changes do not affect an Access Pass you have already purchased. Promotional codes cannot be exchanged for cash, may be limited to one use per person, cannot be combined with other offers unless we state otherwise, and may be withdrawn or corrected if issued in error.

8. Cancellation, the 14-day cooling-off period, and our Money-Back Guarantee

Your statutory right, and what you agree to at checkout. As a consumer buying digital content at a distance, you would ordinarily have a legal right under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 to cancel your purchase within 14 days. However, because an Access Pass gives you immediate access to digital content, at checkout we ask for your express consent to supply that content to you immediately, and your acknowledgement that you lose your statutory 14-day right to cancel once supply begins. Your purchase is only completed with that consent and acknowledgement.

Our voluntary 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee. In place of the statutory right you waive, we offer a guarantee that is designed to be at least as generous for genuine evaluation of the platform. If you are not satisfied with your Access Pass, we will refund your purchase in full, provided that all of the following apply at the time you request the refund:

  1. no more than 14 days have passed since your purchase;
  2. you have attempted fewer than 50 questions on the platform; and
  3. you have opened fewer than 10 theory topics or subtopics.

We measure questions attempted and topics opened using the platform's own usage records, which are decisive for this purpose. The guarantee applies once per person. To claim it, email info@mrcemultra.com from your registered email address within the 14-day window. Approved refunds are made to your original payment method, normally within 5–10 working days of approval.

If you exceed either usage threshold, or the 14 days have passed, your purchase is non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.

Your statutory rights are not affected. Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, under which digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If the Service is faulty, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or price reduction regardless of the guarantee conditions above.

9. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service:

  • in any way that breaches any applicable law or regulation;
  • to copy, reproduce, download, scrape, extract, record, screenshot in bulk, or otherwise capture questions, explanations, theory content, images, or any other content from the platform, whether manually or by automated means;
  • to share, distribute, publish, sell, or otherwise make platform content available to any other person or on any other service, including messaging groups, file-sharing services, and other exam-preparation resources;
  • to interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users' accounts, or the systems on which the Service runs;
  • to develop, train, or improve any competing product or dataset; or
  • in any way that is abusive, harassing, or threatening towards our team or other users.

Breach of this section entitles us to suspend or terminate your account immediately and without refund, and we reserve all other legal remedies available to us.

10. Intellectual property

All content on the Service — including questions, answers, explanations, theory notes, mock examinations, text, graphics, images, audio, video, software, data compilations, page layout, and underlying code — is the property of CogniLoop Ltd or its licensors and is protected by copyright, database rights, trademark law, and other intellectual property rights.

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the content on screen for your own private, non-commercial exam preparation during your period of access. No other right or licence is granted. You must not reproduce, modify, distribute, or commercially exploit any content without our prior written permission.

"MRCEM" and "FRCEM" are qualifications of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine. MrcemUltra is an independent revision resource and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Royal College of Emergency Medicine in any way.

11. Educational resource — important disclaimers

Exam preparation only — not for clinical practice. The Service and all of its content exist for one purpose: preparation for the MRCEM Primary examination. The content is written, structured, and simplified for examination revision and self-assessment. It is not medical advice, clinical guidance, or a reference source for the practice of medicine, and it must never be used or relied upon in the diagnosis, treatment, or care of any patient, or in any other clinical decision. Your clinical practice must be guided by current professional guidance, local protocols, formal training, and your own professional judgement — not by examination revision material. Any reference to drugs, doses, investigations, or management on the platform is for examination context only and must be checked against current formularies and authoritative clinical sources before any real-world use.

Accuracy. We prepare and review our content with care and work to keep it accurate and aligned with the examination curriculum, and we correct errors when they are identified. However, no revision resource is error-free, and we do not warrant that the content is complete, current, or free from errors.

No liability for clinical or other non-examination use. Because the Service is supplied solely for examination preparation, we accept no responsibility or liability whatsoever, to the fullest extent permitted by law, for any use of, or reliance on, the content outside that purpose — including any clinical, professional, or patient-care use — or for any loss, damage, or harm arising from such use or reliance. If you choose to use the content for any purpose other than exam preparation, you do so entirely at your own risk. This does not affect your statutory rights in relation to the Service as an exam-preparation product (see Sections 8 and 13).

No guarantee of exam success. We do not guarantee that use of the Service will result in any particular examination outcome. Success in the MRCEM Primary examination depends on many factors outside our control.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, with immediate effect and without refund, if you materially breach these Terms — including account sharing (Section 4), acceptable-use breaches (Section 9), intellectual-property infringement (Section 10), or abusive conduct (Section 14). Where a breach is minor and capable of remedy, we will normally warn you first.

You may close your account at any time by emailing info@mrcemultra.com. Closing your account does not entitle you to a refund of any Access Pass except as set out in Section 8. On termination or closure, your licence to use the content ends immediately; Sections 9, 10, 11, 13, and 15 survive.

13. Availability, changes to the Service, and limitation of liability

Availability. We aim to keep the Service available at all times, but we provide it "as available" and cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may need to suspend access for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our reasonable control. Where planned maintenance will materially interrupt access, we will try to give notice.

Changes. We may modify the Service and its features from time to time, including to improve it, to reflect changes in the examination, or to comply with law. If a change materially reduces the substance of what an active Access Pass provides, we will tell you and, where appropriate, offer a proportionate remedy.

Liability. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law of England and Wales, and nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Subject to that: we are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable to both parties when the contract was formed, losses not caused by our breach, or business losses (including loss of profit, revenue, or opportunity — the Service is supplied for private use); and our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the total amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

We are not responsible for the content of third-party websites linked from the Service.

14. Zero tolerance for abuse

We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards aggressive, abusive, or threatening behaviour directed at our team through any channel, including email, WhatsApp, and social media. This does not affect your right to complain vigorously — robust criticism of the Service is always acceptable; personal abuse and threats are not. Where this policy is breached, we may issue a warning or, in serious or repeated cases, terminate the account without refund of any unused access.

15. General

Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify registered users by email or by a prominent notice on the platform before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. The Terms in force at the time of each purchase govern that purchase.

Transfer. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer our rights and obligations to another organisation (for example, on a restructuring or sale of the business); your rights under these Terms will not be reduced as a result.

Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.

Severance. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary or deleted, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force.

Waiver. If we do not enforce a right under these Terms immediately, we may still enforce it later.

Third parties. These Terms do not give rise to any rights under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.

Governing law and jurisdiction. These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute — except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere, you may benefit from mandatory consumer protections, and may be able to bring proceedings, under the law of your country of residence.
